The Incident Unfolds
According to a statement posted on Instagram by Vince Neil’s representative, Worrick Robinson IV, the Learjet was involved in a collision while attempting to land. The aircraft veered off its intended course and struck a parked plane. Although the incident might have been catastrophic under different circumstances, the singer himself was not aboard the Learjet at the time of the accident.
The aircraft in question was carrying two pilots and two passengers. However, the collision impacted five individuals in total. One person lost their life, two others sustained critical injuries and were rushed to a trauma center, one suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and another declined medical treatment. The exact details of the identities and conditions of the injured have not yet been fully disclosed.
Robinson IV emphasized that the situation is evolving rapidly and assured the public that additional updates would follow as the investigation progresses. “Mr. Neil’s thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved, and he is grateful for the critical aid of all first responders assisting today,” he stated in his Instagram post.
Official Response and Investigation
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported that the crash occurred around 2:45 p.m. at Scottsdale Airport, leading to a temporary suspension of flights. Just minutes later, at approximately 2:50 p.m., the airport’s official account on X (formerly Twitter) confirmed that the accident took place upon arrival at runway 21. Emergency crews—including firefighters, police, and FAA investigators—responded promptly to the scene to assess the situation and secure the area.
Officials later confirmed that the parked aircraft struck by the Learjet was a Gulfstream 200 located on private property. Spokesperson Kelli Kuester explained that preliminary findings suggest the likely cause of the crash was a failure of the left main gear upon landing. Due to the severity of the incident, the runway remains closed while investigators work to determine the full extent of the mechanical failure and other contributing factors.
Adding to the intrigue, media reports from TMZ revealed that although the Learjet is associated with Vince Neil, it is registered to Chromed in Hollywood—a company linked to the rockstar. This detail has fueled further discussion among fans and industry watchers about the intricate connections between celebrity assets and their management.
