However, each of us has surely encountered a problem when buying bananas: after a few days, this fruit begins to darken and rot. We certainly tried everything to prevent this, but to no avail. In this regard, let’s discover a special trick together. Although it requires a series of steps that must be carried out carefully, it helps us keep the bananas in good condition for a good two years.
Bananas: how to store them
Storing bananas for more than a few days without rotting seems impossible, but it isn’t, especially if you know the right tricks and remedies. To begin with it is of course necessary to buy the quantity of bananas that we want; scrub the bowl with a toothbrush and some baking soda; Rinse them under running water and then dry them with kitchen paper.
Storing bananas
We continue by freeing the fruit from the two ends and, without removing the peel, cutting the bananas into pieces about two fingers thick.
Once this is done, all we have to do is take one or more jars of about 700 ml and insert the following ingredients in this precise order: a bay leaf ; two cloves of garlic or two cloves; two slices of chili pepper (previously cut); a teaspoon of coriander seeds; a teaspoon of dill seeds and a teaspoon of a pepper mixture (white pepper; black pepper; green pepper; pink pepper and allspice).
Then we can add the banana pieces (there are about a dozen in a glass of the above size) and another two or three slices of chili pepper. Next we add a teaspoon of sugar ; one and a half teaspoons of salt ; a teaspoon of 70% vinegar and a little hot water.
How to finish the preservation process
After all the ingredients have been placed in the jars, they must be sterilized. First we equip ourselves with a pot of hot water and put a piece of cloth in it to prevent the jars from bursting once they are inserted.
Once we have simply placed all the containers with their respective lids in the pot, all we have to do is put everything on the heat and let it sterilize for about ten minutes
