Morgan Freeman, 86, Faces Severe Health Scare
Morgan Freeman’s Latest Project Press Tour Disrupted by Illness
Morgan Freeman’s promotional tour for his upcoming series, Special Ops: Lioness, had to be canceled this week due to his health condition. The 86-year-old American actor was supposed to appear in London alongside co-stars Zoe Saldana and Nicole Kidman for the promotional events, but he had to skip them due to an illness.
Freeman chose to remain in the US after falling ill with a “fever,” and medical experts suspected it could be a “contagious infection.” As a result, he couldn’t join his co-stars in the UK to promote the spy thriller series.
Special Ops: Lioness, set to release on July 23 on Paramount+, features an impressive cast including Morgan Freeman, Zoe Saldana, Nicole Kidman, Laysla De Oliveira, and Michael Kelly. Inspired by a real-life CIA program, the show revolves around Marine Joe, played by Zoe, who juggles her personal and professional life as a crucial CIA agent combating terrorism.
Despite Morgan Freeman’s absence from the press tour, the show’s stars Zoe and Nicole continued their promotional activities in London, attending photocalls and screenings. Freeman’s representative stated that the cancellation of his vacation was due to a contagious virus and fever, but he is currently doing well.
Fans eagerly await the release of Special Ops: Lioness, which was written by Taylor Sheridan, known for his work in westerns. The show, produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, is set to premiere on Paramount+ on July 23, with episodes expected to be released weekly throughout the season.
