Michael J. Fox honors wife Tracy Pollan with a touching tribute on their 35th anniversary: ‘Forever together’

Over three decades of unwavering matrimony have seen Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan supporting each other through both highs and lows, particularly during Fox’s challenging battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Celebrating their recent 35th wedding anniversary, the actor penned a heartwarming tribute to his beloved wife. Throughout the years, Fox has shared numerous images of Tracy on social media, commemorating their journey together.

“35 years of laughter, living, listening, and loving you,” Fox wrote in the caption. “Thank you for it all. Forever yours, Mike.”

Pollan replied in the comments, expressing her love, “Love you so much!!!” She also posted her own Instagram tribute to her husband: “Happy anniversary my love. Here’s to many more glorious adventures together. I could not love you more.”

Last month, Pollan celebrated her 63rd birthday, and Fox tweeted a heartfelt message to honor her: “She showers the people she loves with love, she shows them the way that she feels,” he wrote. “My forever Summer girl, my love, my best friend, and the most beautiful amazing mom to our four stupendous kids. Love love love you.”

The love story of Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan began in 1988 when they tied the knot. Their initial encounter was years before on the set of Family Ties, where Pollan played Alex P. Keaton’s fiancée. They reunited on the set of the movie Bright Lights, Big City, and a romance blossomed.

Their wedding took place on July 16, 1988, and together they are blessed with a son, Sam, and identical twin daughters, Aquinnah and Schuyler, as well as a daughter named Esmé.

In 1991, just a few years into their marriage, Fox received a devastating diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease. He recalled on The Late Show With David Letterman in 2015, “It was scary. I was 29 years old, and so it was the last thing I expected to hear. I thought I’d hurt my shoulder doing some stunt because I had a twitch in my pinkie. And the doctor said, ‘You have Parkinson’s disease.’ He said, ‘The good news is that you have 10 years of work left.'”

Throughout the difficult times, Fox found strength in his wife’s love and support as he came to terms with the condition. “We didn’t know what to expect,” he said, “One of the things I’ll always love Tracy for is that at that moment, she didn’t blink.”

Their love has been a constant pillar of support for each other over the past 35 years, and it continues to shine brightly. Pollan explained, “I think we really listen to each other, we are there for each other when we need each other. And then we also give each other space when that’s needed. Just feeling off of what’s needed at the moment and trying to be there.”

“Tracy gives our family everything that we need. Any good in our family, anything good that we do, comes from her,” Fox added, expressing his admiration for his wife.

Despite his Parkinson’s struggles, Fox remains positive. While he announced his acting retirement in 2021, he continues to make a significant impact with his Michael J. Fox Foundation, which funds research to develop more effective Parkinson’s therapies and a cure. The foundation has raised over $1 billion for research initiatives and stands as the largest nonprofit financier of Parkinson’s disease research.

Happy 35th wedding anniversary to Tracy Pollan and Michael J. Fox! Their heartwarming love story continues to inspire and warm the hearts of many.
