Kenny Rogers Put His Career on Hold to Raise Twin Boys Who at 19 ‘Resemble Their Father’ in Rare New Picture
Kenny Rogers and his spouse, Wanda Miller, had a significant age difference, but that didn’t deter them from wanting to create a family together. The couple completed their family with the birth of beautiful twins before Rogers’ passing. The twins were only fifteen when their father passed away, and during their formative years, he made a heartfelt decision to put his career on hold to be there for them. However, it wasn’t always his intention to have children with Wanda.
Their love story began when Rogers met Wanda, who was a hostess at a restaurant where he was dining. Initially, he was supposed to meet someone else for a blind date, but his interest was immediately captured by Wanda. After leaving the restaurant, he called back to inquire about her, but she initially thought it was a prank by her coworkers. Eventually, they connected, and their love blossomed. On June 1, 1997, surrounded by their loved ones, Kenny Rogers and Wanda tied the knot on his Georgia ranch. Speaking about Wanda, Rogers expressed, “She is truly my soul mate. She knows me better than anyone has ever known me before.”
Their age gap raised eyebrows, especially with Wanda’s parents, who were younger than Rogers. However, he assured them that he would always be honest with Wanda and her parents, and they eventually became good friends.
Before their marriage, Rogers made it clear that he didn’t want more children. He was content with his existing children and wasn’t eager to become a father again. Wanda shared the same sentiment and didn’t desire to have children either.
Rogers had a belief that Wanda might change her mind about motherhood as she grew older and her perspective evolved. However, her 30th birthday passed without her expressing any desire for children. It was only when she turned 31 that she broached the topic with Rogers.
