Gina Carano, Conservative Actress, Files Lawsuit Against Woke Disney

Actress Gina Carano has initiated legal proceedings against entertainment giants Disney and LucasfiIm. The dispute stems from Carano’s controversial departure from the hit series “The Mandalorian,” a decision publicly attributed by Lucasfilm to her social media conduct, which the company described as “denigrating people based on their cultural and reIigious identities.”

Carano, whose career spans two decades, contested the portrayal of her actions and statements, arguing that her departure was the result of a targeted campaign against her due to her poIitical and social views. “I was being hunted down…because I was not in line with the acceptable narrative of the time,” Carano stated.

“My words were consistently twisted to demonize & dehumanize me as an alt right wing extre mist. It was a bull ying smear campaign aimed at silencing, destroying & making an example out of me,” she wrote on X

Carano’s case is particularly noteworthy due to the involvement of X (formerly Twitter) and its owner, Elon Musk, who has offered Iegal support to individuals he believes were unjustly penalized for exercising their free speech rights on the platform.

Several months ago, Elon Musk announced on X an offer to provide legal aid to those dismissed for exercising free speech, an initiative Carano never imagined would benefit her in her dispute against Lucasfilm/Disney. Despite low expectations, she reached out, receiving widespread support.

Unexpectedly, she later got an email from a lawyer funded by X, affirming a strong belief in her case after reviewing the extensive information she provided, signaling a significant step forward in her legal journey.

“As for me, I would love to pick up where I left off & continue my journey of creating & participating in story-telling, which is my utmost passion & everything I worked so hard for,” Carano wrote. “It has been difficult to move forward with the lies & labels stuck on me, backed & encouraged by the most powerful entertainment company in the world.”

She finished, “I am grateful someone has come to my defense in such a powerful way & look forward to clearing my name.” Support for Carano has surged online, with fans and advocates for free speech rallying behind her cause.

X’s head of business operations, Joe Benarroch, said in a statement, “As a sign of X Corp’s commitment to free speech, we’re proud to provide financial support for Gina Carano’s lawsuit, empowering her to seek vindication of her free speech rights on X and the ability to work without bullying, harassment, or discrimination.”
