Unexplained drone sightings over New Jersey and Virginia have sparked intrigue and concern, with former CIA officer and whistleblower Kevin Shipp suggesting these drones may be part of a covert government operation designed to detect radiation threats. Shipp’s alarming theory centers around the possibility that the drones are equipped with advanced radiation-detecting technology, potentially searching for signs of nuclear material.
Unveiling a Hidden Mission
During a recent interview on the John Solomon Reports podcast, Shipp shared his concerns about these mysterious aerial devices. “My concern is that these are radiation-detecting drones under a covert CIA plausible deniability program, searching for radiation spikes,” Shipp stated.
He elaborated that such a program might aim to locate missing suitcase-sized nuclear devices that reportedly went unaccounted for following the collapse of the Soviet Union. These weapons, rumored to have been sold on the black market, pose a potentially catastrophic threat if they fall into the wrong hands.
Shipp emphasized the CIA’s capability to operate advanced drones equipped with Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRNE) detectors. These drones are designed to identify elevated radiation levels and other hazards, potentially preventing large-scale disasters.
“If they’re sniffing for radiation, my big concern is that this could involve one of those suitcase nuclear devices,” Shipp warned, underscoring the gravity of the situation.
Photos taken in the Bay Shore section of Toms River, NJ of what appear to be large drones hovering in the area at high altitudes. The drones were photographed between 8:33 p.m. and 8:49 p.m. on Dec. 8, 2024. The drones seemed to be well above the 400 feet height FAA regulations allow.
Targeting Critical Areas
The sightings of these drones have been linked to key locations, including Department of Defense (DOD) military bases and sensitive areas around New Jersey and Virginia. Shipp questioned the significance of these sites, asking, “What is there? What could be the target? Why are these drones over critical military installations?”
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has been closely monitoring the situation. Last week, the FAA issued flight restrictions over President Donald Trump’s Bedminster golf club in New Jersey, raising further questions about the purpose of these drones.
Initial reports of the drones surfaced on November 18, leading to federal investigations. While agencies such as the Pentagon have assured the public that the drones pose no immediate threat and are not linked to any foreign entities, the lack of transparency has fueled speculation.
A Case for Plausible Deniability
Shipp criticized the federal response, suggesting it aligns with the CIA’s long-standing doctrine of plausible deniability. This policy, dating back to 1948, allows the agency to conduct covert operations without direct attribution to the U.S. government or the White House.
“What that does is it allows them to operate in secrecy, denying involvement while conducting sensitive missions,” Shipp explained.
Despite repeated requests for clarification, both the FBI and CIA have remained silent on the matter, leaving the public in the dark. Federal officials have provided minimal information about the drones’ purpose, maintaining that there is no cause for public alarm.
Public Curiosity and Speculation
The lack of clear answers has sparked widespread speculation about the drones’ mission and origin. Are they part of a classified operation to safeguard against nuclear threats, or could there be another explanation?
Shipp’s insights have added a layer of intrigue to the mystery, highlighting the potential implications of these flights. His concerns resonate with a public eager for transparency, as questions persist about the federal agencies’ role and the true purpose of these enigmatic drones.
The Bigger Picture
While federal agencies downplay the significance of the drone sightings, the possibility of a covert mission aimed at preventing a nuclear or radiological incident cannot be ignored. As the mystery unfolds, the public is left to grapple with the implications of advanced surveillance technologies operating in secrecy.
For now, the story of these mysterious drones remains unresolved. But one thing is clear: their presence has raised critical questions about national security, government transparency, and the delicate balance between secrecy and public trust.
