Deidre Hall, 75, from ‘Days of Our Lives,’ Celebrates Motherhood with 2 Children after Struggling with Infertility for Years
Deidre Hall, renowned for her enduring portrayal of Dr. Marlena Evans on Days of Our Lives, has always held a special place in my heart. To me, she exemplifies a wonderful mother, lady, and actor.
However, little did most of us know about the unconventional path this beloved actress embarked on to fulfill her motherhood dreams at the age of 45.
Hall’s two sons have now grown into distinct individuals and have flourished. Fans of Days of Our Lives (1965) have adored Hall’s character, Dr. Marlena Evans, for over four decades, and she is widely regarded as one of the greatest television actors of all time.
Throughout her career, she earned accolades, including the 1994 America Women in Radio and Television (AWRT) Award for Outstanding Television Role Model and five Soap Opera Digest Best Actress Awards in 1982-1985 and 1995.
Actress Frances Reid served as Hall’s mentor, guiding her in the early stages of her acting journey. Their friendship spanned an incredible 34 years until Reid’s passing in 2010, leaving behind a profound impact on Hall’s life.
Hall, in gratitude to her mentor, received a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Television in 2016, honoring her remarkable acting achievements.
Aside from her successful career, Hall also experienced the joys of motherhood. However, it was a challenging journey that involved multiple surgeries and fertility treatments. Eventually, with the help of a surrogate, she welcomed her two children, David and Tully Sohmer, into the world.
Despite the ups and downs of her personal life and multiple marriages, Hall has found contentment and fulfillment. In 2019, she expressed her gratitude for the life she has led, cherishing her children, family, health, and fulfilling career.
Deidre Hall remains an incredible and talented actress, and her impact on the entertainment industry and the lives of her loved ones is immeasurable. We thank her for all the cherished memories and look forward to celebrating her ongoing success in the years to come.
