Motivated by her father’s public struggle with frontotemporal dementia, Tallulah Willis, the youngest of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis’ children, disclosed her own diagnosis.
Recently, the 30-year-old shared a heartwarming childhood moment on Instagram, depicting her father carrying her on the red carpet. This nostalgic post hinted at her unexpected diagnosis in adulthood.
In the shared clip from March 15th, Tallulah is seen as a child, playfully interacting with her father’s head while he speaks with the media at a film premiere. This sparked a dialogue among her 408,000 followers, with Tallulah captioning the post, “tell me your autistic without telling me your autistic [sic].”
Some users admired the sweet moment captured in the clip, while others, familiar with the behaviors displayed, touched upon symptoms of autism and her father’s loving response.
One user commented, “The beautiful way he just wasn’t even phased by that and just continued to hold you. Your dad is one-of-a-kind honey, and so are you.” Another shared, “In your defense, shaved heads are as relaxing as little Japanese sand zen gardens.”
A third fan added, “His care for your feelings is magic… I’m so happy you have moments captured in the vault of forever.”
Regarding her recent diagnosis, one of the most popular comments came from a psychologist specializing in neurodivergent conditions, asking if she was diagnosed as a child and expressing interest in hearing more about her journey.
In response, Tallulah shared, “This is the first time I’ve ever publicly shared my diagnosis. Found out this summer and it’s changed my life.”
Explaining the relevance of the clip, Tallulah’s sister, Scout LaRue Willis, provided insight into Tallulah’s condition, mentioning “stimming,” a term referring to repetitive movements used by some individuals with autism to regulate sensory input.
Amidst their father’s battle with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia, Tallulah and her siblings have shown unwavering support. Bruce Willis, diagnosed with FTD in 2023, has received immense love from his family during this challenging time.
