Elon Musk, CEO of X (formerly Twitter), has decided to cancel the anticipated partnership with Don Lemon, effectively ending plans for “The Don Lemon Show” on the platform.
This decision came shortly after Musk participated in an excIusive interview with Lemon, originally set to kick off the new series on Monday, March 18. Despite this setback, Lemon assured viewers that the show would still debut on YouTube and other podcast platforms as planned.
In a video posted on X, Lemon addressed Musk’s choice. “Hey everyone, it seems Elon Musk isn’t too pleased with me,” Lemon began. “But let me be clear: the premiere episode of ‘The Don Lemon Show’ will still air this Monday, March 18th. Nothing has changed about the show except for my association with Elon and X.”
Earlier in January, Lemon had announced his new project, ‘The Don Lemon Show,’ which was intended to feature 30-minute episodes on X. Reflecting on his decision to interview Musk, Lemon remarked, “I thought, who better to kick off discussions about free speech than Elon Musk, who claims to be an advocate for it? He agreed to the interview willingly. However, it seems free speech isn’t as absolute when it involves questions about him coming from someone like me.”
