Grandfather Raising Triplets All Alone Finds Note and $300 on a Table at Work One Day

A couple proved that good people still exist after they gave a waitress a $300 tip upon hearing the story of her grandsons, who are triplets. So what did the grandfather do afterward? Find out.

On April 30, 2016, a 48-year-old North Dakota waitress received much-needed help from a couple after she engaged in a conversation with the sympathetic duo and some customers at the First and Last Chance Diner.

The kind gesture from the husband and wife left the man in disbelief, as he had only heard about such acts and never experienced them. Here are more details about the waitress and the couple’s generous act.

JENKINS RAISES THE TRIPLETS ON HIS OWN

Since they were two months old, Samuel Jenkins, a grandfather from Lisbon, North Dakota, raised his four-year-old triplet grandsons, Bentley, Dalton, and Ashton.

Jenkins’ son, a 30-year-old single father, already had a toddler and could not cope with taking care of three children. In addition, the boys’ mother had passed away from a car crash some months before. During an interview with ABC News, Jenkins said:

“He tried to do it, and when the boys were two months, he said he couldn’t do it, so I stepped in and offered to raise the boys.”

In the beginning, raising the triplets was very overwhelming for the grandfather, but eventually, he was glad for the opportunity to watch his grandsons grow. Jenkins confessed that he would do it again if given the chance.

JENKINS RECEIVES A HUGE SURPRISE

The North Dakota native’s love for his grandsons was so much that he would often tell his customers about them since he started working at the diner in October 2015. Finally, on April 30, 2016, his kind words about the triplets landed him some help.

The waitress talked to some customers about her family when a couple overheard her. Jenkins told ABC News that the duo was stunned to learn that his grandsons were triplets. So, the husband and wife did something nice with the information.

In addition to their bill, they left an enormous tip of $300 for Jenkins and a note that said, “Take care of those boys!!” The man could not believe his eyes. He said:

“I was in disbelief at first. I looked at it, and I looked at it again. You read stuff about it, and you hear about it, and you wonder, ‘Is that really true? Do people really do that?”

WHAT HAPPENED AFTERWARDS?

After Jenkins realized it was real, he went to the backroom and shed tears of gratitude. Indeed, he was touched by the couple’s generosity.

Afterward, the grandfather took to Facebook to share his story. The kindness of the pair touched a lot of people, including the diner owner, Lisa Thompson.

She revealed that many terrible things had been happening, but the generosity made everyone in the diner brighten up. Also, the pair’s act made her believe that good people still exist.

Hopefully, Jenkins’ story inspires everyone to show love and kindness to people, no matter how little.
