After My Father Abandoned Me, I Took My Revenge—Story of the Day

A Burning Desire for Revenge

Amanda had always been haunted by the absence of her father. She barely had any memories of him—just a few scattered images of a man who was once there, and then suddenly, wasn’t. Her mother raised her alone, loving her unconditionally, but Amanda always wondered why her father had left them. Why had he abandoned her and her mother when they needed him most?

When Amanda found out about her father’s new fiancée, Clara, through a photo in the newspaper, her anger resurfaced. It wasn’t just the fact that he was moving on; it was that he had left them with nothing. He had abandoned her mother when she fell sick, never coming back to help. For Amanda, this new chapter in her father’s life was a slap in the face. It reignited a fire that had been burning in her for years—hurt, betrayal, and the overwhelming desire for revenge.

Amanda had spent so many years wondering what kind of man her father had become. He had always been the person she resented the most, but now, with this photo of him smiling beside another woman, the memories of her childhood came rushing back. How could he be happy while her mother had suffered alone? How could he move on so easily when he had caused so much pain?

She felt a knot tighten in her chest as she sat down at her kitchen table. The silver stud in her ear—one that her mother had gifted her—felt heavy against her skin, a reminder of the love she had lost. Amanda whispered to herself, “Betrayal is nothing new to you,” as the seeds of her plan to take revenge on her father began to take root. She had to do something. She needed him to feel the pain he had caused.

The Plan Takes Shape

The next morning, Amanda was determined. She had a plan in mind, one that would force her father to understand the consequences of his actions. She was going to confront him, not directly, but in a way that would cause him to question everything. She needed him to feel the shame, guilt, and hurt that had been buried deep inside her for years.

Amanda arrived at her father’s house early in the morning, her heart pounding with a mixture of excitement and anger. His house was everything hers was not: big, well-kept, and filled with reminders of the life he had created without her. She hid behind a large oak tree near his property, watching and waiting for the perfect moment to execute her plan.

When her father, Robert, finally stepped out of the house, Amanda could see him smiling as he waved goodbye to Clara. He looked so happy, so content—completely unaware of the storm brewing inside Amanda. She wanted to scream, to run up to him and demand answers. But instead, she stayed hidden, watching as he drove off with his fiancée, leaving the house empty.

As soon as he was gone, Amanda saw her opportunity. She noticed an open window on the second floor of the house. She had spent many hours as a child climbing trees and exploring the property, so getting inside was easy. With quiet, deliberate steps, she climbed up and made her way into the house.

Inside, her father’s room was pristine, almost sterile in its perfection. Everything had a place, nothing was out of order. Amanda’s heart raced as she approached the bed. She trembled slightly as she disturbed the neatly made covers, feeling a small surge of satisfaction as she carefully placed her mother’s earring—a simple but meaningful piece of jewelry—on the bed. It was a small act, but it was enough to sow doubt in his mind. It was enough to make him question the trust he had with Clara.

With that, Amanda slipped out of the house as quietly as she had entered, her heart pounding with anticipation. She was ready for the next part of her plan.

Confrontation and Deceit

Amanda waited patiently, hiding once again behind a tree, her mind racing with what she had set in motion. It wasn’t long before Carla returned to the house. Amanda’s pulse quickened as Robert’s car pulled up soon after, and he walked inside with Clara, laughing and talking as if everything was fine.

When they entered the house, Amanda knew it was time to strike. She approached the door and rang the doorbell. Carla answered, her face betraying a hint of confusion.

“How can I help you?” Carla asked, her voice polite but wary.

“I’m here to see Robert,” Amanda said, feigning confusion. “Are you his maid?”

“No, I’m his fiancée,” Carla responded, showing Amanda the engagement ring that sparkled on her finger.

Amanda couldn’t hold back. “Fiancée? That scoundrel! He told me I was the only one in his life!” she exclaimed, her voice rising with fake outrage.

Carla frowned, clearly puzzled. “What are you talking about?”

“Isn’t that the truth?” Amanda pressed, her eyes glinting with determination. “He told me I was the only one, and now he’s with you? How could you?”

Robert appeared at the door, confusion written all over his face. “Who is this?”

“I don’t know her,” Robert said quickly, but Amanda wasn’t done.

“Oh, but you knew me very well a few hours ago, didn’t you?” Amanda pressed, her tone accusatory.

Carla, now furious, believed Amanda’s lie. “I don’t want to cause any trouble,” Amanda said sweetly. “I’m just here to take my earring that I lost here. It’s my mother’s, and it means a lot to me.”

Robert refused to let her in, but Carla, in her fury, allowed Amanda to search for the earring. Amanda immediately headed to the bedroom, where she knew she had placed it. As soon as she picked it up from the bed, she felt a rush of satisfaction.

“I found it!” Amanda said, holding the earring aloft.

Carla’s eyes widened in horror. “I can’t believe this!” she shouted, turning to Robert. “You’re a cheater! How did this earring get in our bed?”

Robert protested, but Carla was relentless. “You’ve betrayed me. I don’t want anything to do with you!” she screamed, furious.

Amanda stood by silently, her heart racing as she watched Robert’s relationship unravel before his eyes. Finally, she left the house, feeling a strange sense of satisfaction wash over her.

A Change of Heart

A week passed before Amanda heard any news about her father. While working at a restaurant, she overheard her coworkers talking about a lavish wedding. When they mentioned Robert’s name, her heart sank.

“Come on, Amanda,” one of her coworkers, Stacey, said. “Don’t you keep up with the news? That businessman, Robert something… he just spent millions on his wedding to Clara.”

Amanda’s shock was barely concealed. “What?” she replied, trying to mask her feelings. “Who spends millions on a wedding? That’s insane.”

Deep down, Amanda felt like a failure. She couldn’t help but feel betrayed once again, watching her father move on and build a life while she had been left behind. She had wanted to teach him a lesson, but now she was beginning to question whether it had been worth it.

Her mother’s words echoed in her mind: “Anger is like a heavy stone, Amanda. You carry it with you, and it weighs you down. Sometimes, you have to let it go. Sometimes, forgiveness is the only option.”

Amanda had always been taught to forgive, but she hadn’t been able to apply those lessons to her own father. She had been so consumed with anger and revenge that she had never considered the possibility of healing.

That evening, Amanda found herself standing outside her father’s house again, but this time, it was different. Her anger had faded, replaced by a curiosity she hadn’t anticipated. She took a deep breath and rang the doorbell.

Carla opened the door, her eyes narrowing as she recognized Amanda. “Why are you here again?”

“I’m here to talk to Robert,” Amanda said quietly. “I’m not his girlfriend. I lied. I’m… I’m his daughter.”

Carla’s eyebrows furrowed in disbelief. “What? Is this a joke?”

“No,” Amanda said, her voice trembling slightly. “It’s not. I… I need to talk to him.”

Robert appeared at the door, his face hardening when he saw Amanda. “Why are you here again?” he shouted. “Leave us alone, please!”

“Dad… It’s me,” Amanda said softly, her voice breaking with emotion. “I came here to… I needed to know why you left. Why you left Mom and me.”

For a moment, Robert stood frozen. Then, his expression softened, and Amanda could see the pain in his eyes. “Come in, Amanda,” he said quietly, stepping aside to let her in.

Inside, the house felt like a world away from the one Amanda had grown up in. But it didn’t matter anymore. All that mattered was the conversation they were about to have.

As Amanda spoke, she poured out the years of hurt, betrayal, and confusion. She spoke of the anger she had carried for so long, and she confessed her earlier plan to ruin his new relationship. Robert listened quietly, his face etched with regret.

“I understand your anger, Amanda,” Robert said, his voice hoarse. “There’s no excuse for what I did. It was cowardly. I was afraid. Afraid of seeing you both in pain.”

Amanda stared at him, her heart softening for the first time in years. “I guess I forgive you, Dad,” she whispered. “It doesn’t erase what happened, but I can’t carry this anger anymore. It’s a heavy burden.”

Robert’s face crumpled with emotion, and he reached for Amanda’s hand, grateful for the chance to rebuild their relationship.

“Thank you, Amanda,” he said, tears welling in his eyes. “Thank you for giving me a chance.”

For the first time in her life, Amanda felt the weight of her anger lift. Forgiveness wasn’t easy, but it was the first step toward healing.
