Call 911 right away if you see this hanging in a hotel room or public restroom.

Coat hooks have several uses. They may be used to keep keys, clothes, umbrellas, and headphones.

However, you wouldn’t think they would be put to any evil or immoral purpose, would you? Before hearing this, I didn’t know that they were able to accomplish such a thing.

Some coat hooks in hotel rooms and public facilities have concealed cameras in them. Similar gadgets have been spotted in public areas including women’s restrooms and hotel facilities.

Recently, three occurrences have been reported by Floridians. As stated in the MCSO report:

“In the women’s toilets, tiny cameras concealed in coat hooks were discovered fixed on the walls in all three occurrences. On May 26, they were discovered at Anne’s Beach; on May 28, they were discovered in the women’s restroom at Harry Harris Park in Tavernier; and on May 31, they were discovered at the Circle K Store at the 99.8 mile marker on Highway U.S. One.

In 2011, in a Kansas YMCA locker room, a lady unintentionally knocked a camera that was attached to a clothes hanger to the ground.

The investigators of the event found that the hook had a sticky underside.

Lt. Randy Reynolds of the $:e::x Crimes Unit of the Wichita Police Department stated, “The device is not something that would stand out.” “Anywhere could be a changing room for them.”

The most terrifying aspect is that these devices can be purchased for as little as $20 to $50.

The business even uses the catchphrase “No one will suspect a clothes hook of concealing a camera” to promote its products.

The hooks are compatible with MicroSD cards, which have a maximum recording time of two hours at 16 GB.

I can understand how having this on hand may be useful if you suspected someone in your office was stealing from you. But a far higher proportion of users are misusing them for s:3::x and using them to snoop on defenseless women and children.

How would you recognize one?

It’s easy to identify one of these devices. All that separates them from being ordinary plastic coat hangers is a little aperture on top. The lenses are those. (Red highlights added)

In certain cases, the motion sensor may even include a side button that you must press to activate it.

On a white coat hanger, some people’s lights are dazzlingly bright and easy to see, yet on a black one, others may be harder to see.
